Chapter 22

It was quiet inside the house when Rosalie woke up. Vincent was not home either that day. He left a note for Rosalie, explaining that he had gone out to take care of a few errands. Rosalie did not think much of it. After having breakfast, she went back to her room, turned on the computer, and prepared to study. When Rosalie finished reading a chapter, the phone she had left on the table rang. She picked it up and saw an unknown number on the screen. After hesitating for a few seconds, she answered the phone. She said hello a few times, yet there was no reply. When she was about to hang up, Luke's deep voice finally came through the line, "I'm outside the place you're staying at. Rosie, can you come out and celebrate my birthday with me?" Rosalie had no idea how he had found this place. However, she knew him well enough to know that Luke would use every means to take her away if she were to step out of the house today. She did not want to see something like that happen. So, Rosal
