Simon was stunned for a moment, thinking I was angry about the birthday cake. Raising his eyebrows, he insisted, "I already said it was the staff's mistake. I apologized and even ordered a new one. Why do you still have to make a fuss?"
It was always like this—whenever I said one thing, he twisted it into another.
I didn't bother wasting words on him. I carried their cake to the door and made a gesture inviting them to leave.
"Sienna, what are you doing? Can't we just talk this out properly—"
The two of them were still rambling on, so I shoved them out, slammed the door, and locked it.
Simon tried to get in again by entering the password, and I heard Tiffany say, "Simon, she's really ungrateful. You already apologized, so what more does she want?"
