Chapter 830 Bridesmaid
“Yes,” complied Tamara’s men.
She hung up the phone and shut down her laptop.
She stood up and went to the balcony. Tamara stared out into the sea.
Fear and worry etched her face as she thought of the danger Sebastian was in, along with her concern for Benjamin and Margot.
The latter two had disappeared once they arrived at Nammu Bay. Neither the Lane family nor the Zimmerman family could find them.
Tamara was in the same boat as them.
This was a disaster.
Time ticked on, and it was finally nighttime. The dark sea swallowed the last trace of orange. Tamara returned to her room and waited for the news patiently.
It was 10 pm when someone came to knock on her door.
The corners of Tamara’s lips twitched. She stood up and went for the door. She smiled when she saw who it was. “Let me put on some makeup for you.”
The person nodded, and Tamara took out her makeup purse.
After half an hour, Tamara went to knock on James’ door.
James opened the door and was shocked to see Tamara standing outside. He quirked an eyebrow. “What brings you here, Tamara?”
Tamara pointed at the person behind her. “This is my friend. She had just arrived. I’m just here to inform you that she will be my bridesmaid.”
James’ gaze landed on the person. She was about the same height as Tamara. But of course, she wasn’t as pretty as her. She looked average. She wasn’t someone James had seen before.
“Who’s she?” questioned James.
Tamara introduced her. “Her name is Evelyn Jones. She is our butler’s daughter. We’re very close.”
James smiled at Evelyn. “A pleasure to meet you.”
Evelyn gave a curt nod. “The pleasure is mine.”
James had never heard the voice before, either.
James smiled, “I’m fine with her being your bridesmaid. It’s getting late. The both of you should get some rest.”
Tamara nodded and brought Evelyn back to their room.
James shut the door gently.
Evelyn Jones.
He had never heard of the name.
James had run a thorough investigation on Tamara. He knew everyone who came in contact with Tamara. Evelyn was not one of them.
James pulled out his phone and made a call. “Check if Tamara’s butler has a daughter named Evelyn Jones.”
“Yes, Mr. Gladwell,” complied his men.
After about 10 minutes, James’ phone rang again. He answered the call.
“Mr. Gladwell, Miss Moore’s butler does have a daughter called Evelyn. He has a son too. Also…” informed the man.
“Alright. Got it.” James hung up the phone once he got the answer.
He was being too cautious.
But he didn’t regret his actions.
Their wedding was going to be held the next day. James didn’t want anything to go wrong before that.
The night went on, and the sound of waves crashing on the shore could be heard from time to time.
James sipped on his red wine elegantly. Whenever he thought about the wedding tomorrow, a smile would break out across his face.
This was nice. She would finally be his tomorrow.
…
The next morning.
They left for the church.
Since the groom wasn’t supposed to meet the bride before the wedding, James and Tamara went in two separate cars.
James got in the car after Tamara.
He had on a white suit and looked like the prince from a fairytale. When he arrived at the church, his men informed him, “Miss Moore and her friend are in the dressing room at the back. Do you want to check up on them?”
James nodded. “I’ll head over. You guys take watch here.”
His men complied.
There was a room in the church. It was now being used as a makeup room.
Someone knocked on the door. Tamara, who was sitting in front of the mirror, called for them to enter. The door opened, and James walked in.
