Chapter 837 Beg
James ignored Sebastian’s angry gaze. He smiled provocatively and said, “Sebastian, Tamara and I already had our wedding. She is my wife now. I gave her what you failed to do!”
Sebastian’s breathing grew heavy, and he glanced behind James again. The wind had picked up suddenly, and it chilled them to the bone.
“You can leave if you want to. The boat is over there, but let her go. This has nothing to do with her,” Sebastian growled lowly.
James sneered, “How could I let her go? I want to take her with me!”
Sebastian narrowed his eyes at James coldly, “Is that so? Have you asked for her opinion?”
“Her opinion doesn’t matter. As long as she is mine, that’s enough!” James pulled Tamara with him.
Sebastian sneered at him, “You don’t even care about what she wants. What do you like about her? Her body?”
Sebastian must have hit a nerve. James glared at Sebastian angrily. “You’re wrong! I love her! I love everything about her! I was the one who fell for her first. Why did she choose you in the end?”
James had a crazed look as he continued, “I’ve changed my mind. Not only do I want to escape with her, but I also want you dead!”
Sebastian’s brows furrowed tightly together at the mad James. His gaze fell on Tamara. She seemed to be in immense pain.
“Let her go! You’re hurting her!” Sebastian was furious. He glared harshly at James. Sebastian would have torn James into pieces if it wasn’t for him restraining Tamara!
James’ hand trembled. He finally realized that Tamara’s face was pale, with obvious bruises around her neck.
“Tamara, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you. Please don’t hate me,” James hurriedly apologized. Still, he didn’t let go of her.
“James, you say you love her, but what gives you the right to love her? Just because you saved her twice?” Sebastian spoke coldly. His gaze was icy cold and tinged with mockery. “The police save many people every day. Do all those victims have to repay their savior with their bodies?”
“It’s not like that...” James’s eyes reddened.
“You say you love her but kept hurting her family and her beloved children. You even used them to blackmail her into agreeing to your unreasonable requests. James, you are a failure of a man,” stated Sebastian.
Sebastian’s every word felt like a knife stabbing into James’ heart. James had deluded himself into thinking that simply having Tamara by his side would suffice.
But was it really enough?
Whenever he saw the hatred and disgust in Tamara’s eyes, his heart would break, and even breathing would prove to be a laborious task. But he deluded himself into thinking that it didn’t matter.
Yet how could it not matter?
He wanted her to gaze gently at him. He wanted her to have eyes for him and him alone.
He thought he could achieve that as long as she was by his side.
But at this moment, Sebastian’s words were like a slap across the face. It woke James up from his delusions.
He was a failure of a man.
James felt provoked by Sebastian’s words. He raised his gun and aimed it at Sebastian. He pulled the trigger!
“No!” screamed Tamara. When she saw Sebastian dodge, she gasped in relief. Her chest heaved violently, and tears streamed down her cheeks. She couldn’t take it anymore.
“James, don’t hurt him. Please… don’t hurt him...” choked Tamara. She even contemplated falling onto her knees to beg him.
After all the things James had put her through, Tamara never once begged for mercy. Tamara was worried that Sebastian would be hurt as she watched James’ crazed expression.
