There was another pharmacist working at the counter, so Lily and Xavier couldn't talk freely. The only thing Lily could do was study Xavier's reflection on the glass window. The reflection was blurry, but she was able to notice that the bottom half of his face was tight with tension. As for the emotion swirling in his eyes, Lily couldn't make out what it was. They left the pharmacy soon after getting the medication. There were other people in the elevator with them during their trip back to the office, so Lily wasn't able to continue her conversation with Xavier. When the elevator doors slid open, they were greeted by Maddie, who seemed to be waiting for them. She looked especially unhappy as she stared at Lily, acting as if Lily had stolen her precious treasure from right under her nose. Lily ignored Maddie and addressed Xavier instead. "Excuse me, how should this medicine be taken? Did you forget? I'll follow you back to the office. We can ask Dr. Blackwood together!" Xavier n
