"Move," Lily said, mustering all her strength to shove him away before striding out. Caught off guard, Xavier staggered backward, instinctively grabbing the handrail inside the elevator. Even in his disheveled state, there was a certain sexy vulnerability about him. He watched her fade into the distance. Exhaling deeply, he darted out of the elevator and hurried after her. Once Lily was outside the villa, the breeze brushed against her face, easing some of the frustration weighing on her chest. She finally felt a little more at ease. She stood next to the car, waiting for Xavier. There was no way to hail a ride out here—she would have to take his car. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw him coming out of the villa. She deliberately avoided looking at him, as if that kiss just now had never happened. Surprisingly, Xavier looked a little awkward too. Though he hadn't had enough of that kiss, he felt uneasy, worried that he might have sabotaged his chances of winning her back.
