I wanted to reach out and grab Noah’s hand to stop him from unbuttoning his shirt, but my hands were full of the things he’d given me earlier. So, I quickly dropped the chocolates and stuffed his phone into my pocket.
“Coco, Mochi, don’t eat that! It’s dangerous for you,” I scolded my dogs as I saw them licking the chocolates I’d dropped on the ground.
I hurriedly opened the door, helped Noah sit on the stairs, and carried the two dogs inside to keep them away from the chocolates.
