Chapter 60

Rosalie asked cautiously, "Then, could you pick me up from kindergarten tomorrow, Mommy?" She liked having Cecilia pick her up, and her classmates all said that Cecilia was very pretty, which made her feel proud and superior. However, she'd been feeling uneasy ever since telling Teresa to get lost, and she wanted to patch things up with her. Once they reconciled, she'd be able to have Cecilia pick her up every day without worry. Otherwise, she'd feel uncomfortable with the thought constantly weighing on her mind. Teresa didn't know what had gotten into Rosalie, but she didn't actually have time tomorrow. As such, she rejected Rosalie once more. "I have to work a shift tomorrow, Rosie, so please get your father to pick you up." Feeling helpless and dejected, Rosalie replied, "Okay, then." Teresa didn't want to stay on the phone for a second longer than she had to, so she said, "I'm hanging up now. Have a good rest." She promptly hung up without waiting for Rosalie's response. B
