When Amara received the news, she learned that Gus had already left. The hospital nurse said he'd discharged himself before fully recovering and was apparently heading back home. Amara didn't particularly care. She'd said everything that needed to be said and done everything that needed to be done. She hadn't wronged anyone. She left the hospital, and the moment she walked through her front door, she was pulled into a warm embrace. "Why did you go to the hospital again?" Jasper had become noticeably more possessive since they'd made things official. Amara found it amusing. How could someone actually become more childish after starting a relationship? She hugged the sulking Jasper and explained, "I went to handle his discharge paperwork. Gus has left and gone back home. He won't be coming back, so you can relax now."
