Chapter 36
After gathering herself up, Gabriella drove the car and stopped by a flower shop to buy chrysanthemums. She then continued driving to the seashore. Unfathomable darkness shrouded the ocean, and the huge waves rolled on the shore as if they could devour any living thing that would come at them.
She stood alone on the raised rocks at the coast and placed the bouquet of chrysanthemums on the rock by her feet. Her eyes stared blankly into the horizon where the sky met the sea.
She inhaled the salt air and felt the moist wind on her face.
“Grandma…” she murmured.
Six years ago, she sprinkled her grandma's ashes into the sea. She felt like her grandmother would still be around if she did that.
“I’m here,” she softly said, and her voice choked at the end. “I came here to see you. I miss you, grandma. I miss you so much.”
Her tears dropped as she called out into the sea. Her grandma was the loveliest person in her life.
She took care of Gabriella and gave her the love and attention she failed
