I FELT relieved on what Kelleon said. The burden I felt that I caused someone's death was removed from my heart.
"Thank God," I whispered before laying back on the hospital bed and closing my eyes.
"I was not fast enough to react. If I just moved fast, Mama Tine wouldn't get shot," Kelleon said with a low voice.
I touched his hand. "There's no need to apologize, cari&ntilde;o. If we have to blame someone, it's Denisse."
He took a deep breath. I felt a few fingers trailing my jaw. "Are you tired, mi amor? Do you want me to call a doctor?"
I shook my head. "There's no need for that. I just felt happy that this is finally over."
"Me too, mi amor," I can hear his smile. "We can finally get married."
I turned my head to him while pouting my lips. "I don't want to have a gunshot wound while having our wedding. It looks so uncool."

THE BLOOD transfer was a success. Everything was in order, aside from the fact that I felt somehow dizzy after the procedure.
"What are you feeling, mi amor?" Kelleon asked while he is escorting me inside my room. "Do you want me to call a doctor?"
He placed his hand on my forehead before helping me on laying down on the bed. He adjusted the height of the pillow before covering my body, up to my shoulders, with blanket.
My boyfriend's really the sweetest...
"Hmm, I'm feeling dizzy," I complained as I closed my eyes. The light from the bulb is too bright and I can't look at it.
Kelleon caressed my temple, and then massaged it softly. "That's normal after blood transfusion. I read in a book that it will go away after half an hour," he explained. "But if you're still dizzy after one hour, I will call the doctor to check on you."

DARKNESS greeted me when I opened my eyes. Well, I'm not even sure if my eyes were already opened. There is no hint of brightness in every space. I tried to blink my eyes, but the same thing greeted me whenever it is close or open.
All black.
However, that darkness didn't stop me from thinking that there are people near me. I can hear small muffling sounds. I don't know where they are coming from.
Sound of footsteps and metal clicking echoed in my ear. That felt like it came from a nearby place, but I can point which direction I should go.
I opened my mouth, trying to ask for help. But no words came out.
I became mute. Or maybe, it was because my throat felt so dry that I can't talk. I can't even let out a small moan.
