Chapter 93

Josephine was afraid to open her eyes.  She doesn't know what happened or what will happen to her.  She and Sky find themselves caught between mobsters preventing them from escaping and Josephine's last memory is only of feeling tired and resigned, hoping that her children would be okay and then, someone behind grabbed her.  It was very quiet around Josephine and she lowered her hands from above her stomach, feeling the soft cloth covering where she lay.  Josephine's sense of smell was also awakened, inhaling the subtle aromas of lavender and fresh cinnamon soothed. Josephine was confused, but right now the feeling that overtook her was one of calm and security.  Slowly, Josephine opened her eyes.  This familiar scent made Josephine wishful and when her eyes opened, she immediately looked up at the high ceiling above, which seemed to have been her daily meal in recent times.  Josephine slowly gathered her strength and consciousness and got up from her sleeping position.
