Jonathan looked at me with dark eyes. Before I could react, another firm smack fell on my bottom again. The crisp sound filled me with both fury and shock. He had actually smacked me! I stared at him in disbelief, my gaze dripping with anger and hatred. I was just about to get up when he pushed me back onto the bed. He looked at me solemnly and said, "You're not allowed to brush me off when it comes to something like this. You have to tell me if you're injured, do you hear me?" I gritted my teeth and seethed, "Jonathan, do you have trouble understanding simple words?"
