Chapter 88 Dr. Anderson's Assistant

Lila cast a cold, indifferent glance at Damian, her gaze oozing unmasked displeasure. The last time they saw each other, they were fussing over the X-Factor cancer project. Without uttering a single word, she made her way straight to the nearby break room. Damian was still rooted to the spot, his eyes instinctively following the slender yet unyielding figure as she walked away. He remained frozen in place just like that until Jacob's assistant, Miguel Cruz, spoke again. "Mr. Cross, Professor Manning said you could come in." It was only then that Damian finally snapped out of his daze and turned his gaze away. Suppressing the turmoil in his heart, he asked Miguel in a seemingly offhanded tone, "Who's that lady? What's she doing here?" Miguel was slightly puzzled, too. He scratched his head and responded, "I'm not too sure myself. Professor Manning said that Dr. Anderson is visiting him today. When they were chatting earlier, however, he didn't address her that way. Perhaps she'
