Chapter 29 Max's Point of View You know that feeling when your whole world falls apart? Not the slow kind of falling apart, like when a relationship dies bit by bit, but the sudden kind that hits you like a truck? That's what happened to me that day. I couldn't stop staring at Eva on the floor. She was crying so hard her whole body was shaking. Her makeup was running down her face in black streaks, and her hands... God, her hands were still covered in his blood. My grandfather's blood. As I stared at Eva, collapsed on the floor, her body wracked with sobs, my mind replayed the events that had led me here. My fists clenched, and I struggled to hold back the whirlwind of emotions that threatened to consume me..  I was sitting at my desk at work, going through some boring paperwork, when my phone buzzed. Unknown number. Usually, I ignore those calls, but something made me pick up this time. Maybe it was fate, maybe it was just bad luck. "Mr. Grave?" A woman's voice, all shaky and scared.
