The moment Julian spoke those words, the air turned heavy.
It was quiet for a while.
Then Elijah finally said, “We can’t change what happened, but at least we’ve been given a shot to make up for it. This time around, let’s do everything we can to make our sister happy.”
“But she might never forgive us,” Julian wiped a bit of blood from the corner of his mouth.
Giving everything didn’t scare him.
What scared him was doing all that and still not getting her forgiveness.
“She’s our sister. Blood’s thicker than water. She won’t hate us forever,” Elijah tried to comfort Julian—and probably himself too.
Julian’s eyes suddenly lit up.
“Yeah, exactly! No matter what, we’re her brothers—real, blood-related brothers. And we were totally fooled by those three scumbags from the Grant family. Once she learns the truth, she’ll definitely forgive us!”
Tristan, though, just felt restless.
He didn’t know why, but deep down, he didn’t think it would be that easy.
