Everett’s POV:
After leaving the rehab center, I didn’t head to Cloud Mountain. I drove straight to Green Lake Villa instead.
I hadn’t had the guts to return to that place for a long time.
But tonight, I made up my mind.
My car rolled into the villa courtyard. I turned off the engine and got out.
Unlocking the door, I stepped inside.
Even though no one had lived here for a while, someone still came to clean regularly.
I went upstairs to the master bedroom, switched on the light, walked to the bedside table, crouched down, and opened the second drawer. I pulled out a document folder, then headed quickly back downstairs.
My steps were hurried, almost urgent.
I called Davis as I moved. “Scarlett’s been dropped off?”
“Yes, Mr. Robinson,” he replied. “Did everything go okay on your end?”
“Yeah.” Sliding into the driver’s seat, I tossed the folder onto the passenger side, started the car, and drove out through the gate.
“Have someone come tomorrow to take down the Green Lake Villa nameplate
