Alicia looked at me for a while before speaking. “There’s no need to be afraid or overthink things. You’re doing just fine as you are.”
I looked at her. “You think so too?”
“Yes.” She nodded solemnly. “I know you might be feeling a bit soft toward Everett right now, but I think that’s because his leg injury is clouding your judgment. You sound rational on the surface, but deep down, you’re actually wavering.”

Alicia was right. I had softened.
