Chapter 13

I impatiently kicked Salvatore away. "You're overthinking. I'm just worried about you dirtying my car." Salvatore's eyes widened as if he couldn't believe what I had just said. He was rooted to the spot in a daze. I ignored him and asked the driver to drive us away. Marco sat next to me and patted my back soothingly. "Why don't I make him disappear since you don't like him, Gina?" His tone was gentle, but a hint of ferocity colored his voice at the mention of Salvatore. It was as if he would truly make Salvatore disappear from the face of the earth as long as I gave the word. "It's not the right time yet," I said. I wasn't going to allow Salvatore to disappear that easily. I wanted the Farro brothers to turn against each other. I wanted their family to fall into ruins and lose everything. Marco stared at me for a long time before he tightened his hold on my hand. "Alright, then. I'll follow your lead. I just want you to promise me that you won't shoulder everything by yourself."
