Chapter Twenty

Stephanie got busy helping her brother. She didn’t know exactly how she would go about it because, on the one hand, she wanted to protect her friend from another heartbreak, and on the other, she wanted her brother to have his happily ever after. Stephanie had seen Kyle suffer and hurt over the years, and she’d always assured him that there was someone out there for him. She thought that his feelings for Leslie would gradually wane and die off, but they seemed to be growing, and now, it was his only shot at ever getting Leslie’s attention. But was it okay? Was it worth it? If something happened and they broke apart, then they’d both be hurt beyond repair, and Stephanie would be caught right in the middle of it. She thought of being selfish and keeping them as far away from each other as possible.
