CARLOS VALVERDE’s pov The city was burning. Gunshots rang out through the streets, sirens screamed, and smoke billowed from buildings. I watched the mayhem unfold from the top floor of my headquarters. My empire was in ruins, right in front of me. Do they believe they can defeat me? With anger brewing inside of me, I clenched my fists. One of my men shook his voice and said, "Boss, we've lost the eastern district." "Then take it back," I yelled. "But Camila's forces are" "Take it back, I said!" I let out a roar. He gave me a nod and hurried off, leaving me to think alone. Luis, Alejandro, and Camila are all traitors. They were meant to be family and allies. They are now spearheading this uprising against me. I thought back to the times when we worked together to construct this empire, brick by brick. They now wish to demolish it. The door flew open. We've picked up a message, sir. Tonight, Camila intends to attack the main warehouse. I grinned. Allow her to enter. We'll be prepared. Th
