Dylan was just a year older than Giselle. Among all the cousins, they had been the closest.
When Dylan was two, his parents died in a highway pile-up. Diane had single-handedly raised him, and it was no exaggeration to say that he and Giselle were as close as siblings by blood.
But now, he stood before her, jabbing a finger in her face and asking why she hadn't just died in the psychiatric hospital.
Giselle smiled faintly, lowered her gaze, and rubbed her nose. Then, she turned away from him and addressed Hubert instead. "What was that about on the phone?"
Hubert gestured toward Dylan, then looked at Giselle with thinly veiled disdain. "We've packed your belongings, Ms. Whitman. Mr. David Whitman is the registered owner of this apartment. You've had the audacity to stay here for days.
"If Mr. Whitman hadn't come forward to clarify, we'd still be in the dark!"
