Tyler wanted to know what was happening and was being weird on the phone.” She sounds close to tears, too, and I catch her hand and link our fingers snugly to comfort her. A new simmer of anger that Tyler has said something to upset her, and I will rip his throat out. “In what way?” I ask, trying to calm myself and leading Elisa away from the party further so we end up in a dark corner. We almost cannot make one another out, but I don’t want prying ears to hear us. “He asked what guys were here and what I was doing…who I was hanging out with, and if you were leaving me alone to be with Jordan. Who was with me.” Elisa starts twirling her hair with a nervous edge to her tone. “He asked if we were drinking alcohol and who was taking us home…being extra pushy about knowing all the details.
