Victoria smiled at Vincent. "Mr. Harper, how about I have someone take Rachel to the hospital first? Once she wakes up, I'll personally make sure she apologizes properly to Miss Harper. There are so many eyes watching tonight—making a scene won't do you any favors." Vincent let out a cold laugh. "You think I care?" Victoria added, "Of course you don't. But maybe spare a thought for Charisse, here? She's in charge of tonight's event. If things really go south, it won't reflect well on her either, right?" Vincent's lips pressed into a thin line, his whole demeanor practically frosted over. After a long, tense pause, he finally snapped, "Get out, all of you!" At her signal, someone quickly came and carried Rachel out like dead weight, and the rest of the guests quietly made their exit too. What had started as a classy event now ended on a pretty awkward note. Charisse stood at the hotel entrance seeing the guests off, calm and courteous, not giving anyone the slightest reason to fault her
