Elliot and Vincent had just wrapped up some business in Whitestone Province and finally made it back. First thing after checking into the hotel, Vincent ordered food—and specifically asked the hotel manager to bring it up. But the one who showed up wasn't Charisse. "Who are you? Where's Charisse?" Vincent shot her a look. Lauren beamed like she just won something: "Mr. Harper, Charisse's no longer with us. She was let go. I'm the new manager here at Luna Heights Hotel, at your service." Vincent raised a brow and glanced at Elliot. Elliot looked up from his tablet. "Fired?" "Yes, she offended our lady boss and got sacked," Lauren announced proudly, dropping Lily' name like it was some kind of power card. In Lauren's mind, Lily was someone who could make waves in Draycott. Name-dropping her usually worked magic. She didn't know who these two men really were, but judging by their sharp suits and how they were staying in the Presidential Suite, they had to be from the same circle as Lily.
