Cassandra had taken a pretty hard fall and sat on the couch for a while to recover. Her arm was bruised, but the more serious injury was her left ankle, which had twisted. When she tried to stand and take a few steps, a dull ache throbbed through her ankle. She could tell she would need acupuncture to ease the swelling. Serena hovered nearby, feigning concern. "Mrs. Hart, should I call Dr. Pierce to take a look?" Being a doctor herself, Cassandra was about to refuse when the doorbell suddenly rang. Serena went to answer it, and when she saw who was standing there, her eyes widened in surprise. "Dr. Pierce? What are you doing here?" Standing at the door was the Hart family doctor, Damian Pierce, carrying his medical kit and wearing black-rimmed glasses. Serena frowned slightly—she hadn't contacted him. Damian adjusted his glasses and said evenly, "I got a message from Ash. He said the lady of the house had taken a fall, so I came to check on her." Cassandra heard everything cl
