It took a while for Amethyst to calm Wendy down.
Wendy smiled sweetly at Amethyst. "Mom, I'm sorry. I was being thoughtless. You have an injury, and yet you're comforting me. Please go back to your ward and rest. Don't tire yourself out."
Seeing Wendy's thoughtfulness, Amethyst felt greatly relieved, and her earlier exhaustion seemed to dissipate. She gently patted Wendy on the back and said softly, "Silly child, I'm fine. As long as you're okay, that's all that matters."
Amethyst turned to look at Benedict with a serious expression. "Benedict, make sure you send more people to look for Kaia. She's still our daughter, no matter what she's done. We can't just ignore her."
Though reluctant, Benedict nodded in agreement, responding in a perfunctory tone.
Once Amethyst finished speaking, she and Wendy left the ward. As they reached the door, they encountered the kind-faced Daphne.
Amethyst smiled and greeted her politely, "Ms. Suarez, I didn't expect you to be here."
