88. UNICORN

~ Zoie’s POV ~ - - - - - Two Weeks Later - - - - - Zoie sat in Dr. Singh’s office with her mom and dad by her side. Dr. Singh, a middle-aged man who was known to be one of the best surgeons in the state, was handling Zoie’s case personally.  “There are plenty of options,” he said as he adjusted his glasses. “We can look into surrogacy or even adoption—” “And normal birth is…?” Violet interjected, sounding rather nervous. “Not a possibility as far as I know,” Dr. Singh said with a heavy sigh. Zoie glanced down to avoid eye contact. “I’m really sorry, but the wounds were… extensive,” Zoie shuffled uncomfortably in her seat. She had spent the past two weeks in the hospital doing all sorts of tests. Damon and Violet were pretty persistent. They wouldn’t bring Zoie home unless they knew for sure that she was alright. In terms of her physical health, she was fine, except for the fact that she sustained injuries that caused her to be infertile.  “That’s good to know that we have options, but
