"Scarlett!" Linda and her two companions spotted her on horseback just then. Linda quickly dismounted and hurried over. "What's wrong? You look awful." Scarlett managed a smile. "It's nothing." She added, "This young lady is here to see Mr. Stroud. I've confirmed her identity. Everything checks out. She really does have something important to discuss with him. Could you take her to him? I have an urgent matter and need to head back to Yendale." Linda frowned. "So suddenly? Why not wait for Mr. Stroud to return?" "He probably won't be back until tonight, and I can't afford to wait. Please take care of her for me. I'll just grab my bag from the villa and head out." Scarlett climbed back onto her horse and rode off the same way she had come.
