The call was disconnected with a final beep. All the guests in the hall turned to look at Liam, puzzled. Thomas and Mariana panicked as they tried to persuade him to enter the hall. "The ceremony's starting. Liam, what are you doing? Mia and her family aren't coming and will never return to the country, either. Why are you making things harder for everyone? Just go inside already!" "We called you multiple times the day they left, hoping you'd return for one last meal and a proper goodbye. Yet, you didn't answer our calls. What's the point of panicking now? You should get married first. We can go to Seraphis together later, and you can explain everything to Mr. Torres then." Every word stung Liam's heart. The thought that he might never see Mia again made his hands tremble. He still made no move to enter even after the emcee's third reminder. Instead, he began dialing the number back. But all he got was a mechanical voice telling him the phone was off. He tried to call Mia again.
