Allison's POV
Miranda quickly slid into the passenger seat, while I took the back. She turned around, her smile a little too practiced to be genuine.
"I ordered Thai food for us," she said, her voice carrying that forced cheerfulness she'd been showing since our conversation with Henry.
I nodded, trying not to show how uncomfortable I was being alone with Miranda after weeks of her subtle sabotage at work. "That works for me."
After all our dishes arrived at the restaurant, Miranda leaned across the table, her eyes meeting mine with an intensity that made my wolf stir uneasily beneath my skin.
"Allison," she said, her voice dropping to what I assumed was her attempt at sincerity, "I want to apologize for my behavior before. I hope we can put our differences aside and move forward as colleagues. For the good of the company."
