Allison's POV I stood frozen at the bottom of the staircase when Liam's commanding voice stopped me in my tracks. "Allison, prepare a room for Diana. Make sure it's spotless." His tone left no room for argument—typical Alpha behavior. "Fine," I managed to say through gritted teeth. As I climbed the stairs, I glanced back to see Diana laughing at something Liam had said. My wolf stirred inside me, jealous and territorial, but I tamped down the feeling. I couldn't let my true Alpha nature show—not yet, not until I knew if Liam was worthy of being my mate. I prepared the guest room next to Liam's master bedroom, carefully making the bed and dusting the surfaces. The whole time my wolf paced restlessly inside me. Was this Diana woman a threat?
