I stormed into my office, the tension of the day wrapping around me like an unwelcome guest. My handbag hit the couch with a soft thud, drawing Nathan’s attention like a wolf spotting prey. His eyes flicked to the designer logo briefly, his brow furrowing ever so slightly.
I saw that look. That exact look.
Great—another Alpha who thinks I’m some spoiled brat playing dress-up as a healer. The skepticism in his face only added to my already sour mood.
"Do you like the bag, Nathan?" I asked, my voice louder than I intended.
His eyes snapped up to meet mine. He looked like a deer caught in headlights. "What? No—uh, I mean, it’s… a nice bag, I suppose."
I tilted my head, resting my hand on the desk. "It’s yours if it’ll stop you staring holes into it." My tone was sharp, though a faint smirk tugged at my lips for good measure.
He straightened, brushing off my remark with a forced chuckle. "Thank you, but no. That’s not why I’m here."
"Then why are you here, Nathan?"
