Chapter 9 NEEDING HER HELP
Devon’s POV.
I stared at her, my jaw dropping as I took in her furious expression. Her eyes blazed with anger, and her hands were clenched into tight fists.
“What the heck have I done?” I mumbled, but before I could finish my sentence, she cut me off.
“Are you deaf or something?” she yelled. “I said get out of my house, now!”
I opened my mouth to protest, but she pushed me toward the door, her strength surprising me.
“I'm serious, Devon,” she said, her voice low and deadly. “If you don't leave, I'll make you.”
I knew she meant it. I could see the fire in her eyes, the determination in her stance. And I knew that if I didn't leave, she would make me. I took a step back, my heart pounding in my chest.
“Bella,” I began, but she cut me off again.
“I don't want to hear it,” she said, her voice cracking. “Just go.”
I turned and walked to the door, my head spinning. I opened it and stepped outside, the cool night air hitting my face. I hesitated, my hand on the door, knowing that if I closed
