"Because Rose sold her shares to me," Lucas replied with a self-satisfied smirk.
I drew back in shock, my wolf Aria bristling inside me. "What? Why would she do that?" The implications hit me immediately.
I remember vividly when Alexander, as the Alpha of Nightscar Pack, confidently told me he controlled the pack's business affairs because his mother's five percent added to his own forty-six percent stake gave him dominant control.
With Rose selling her shares to Lucas, everything would change. No shareholder, especially the power-hungry wolves in this room, would allow an Alpha suffering memory loss to lead with less than controlling interest in the company.
