"Tell me, Derrick, why have you come at all?" His cousin enquired. "I had my fitting a few days ago. You didn't come by then, and all of a sudden I received a call asking to come by as a congratulatory visit. I apologize but I think there's more to this." At last, he was exposed. For an instant, he had entirely forgotten that his cousin had once been a Beta. He was a research virtuoso, of course, and a naturally suspicious person. Tyler held significant responsibilities as the second-in-command to the son of the Alpha King. It was obvious to him that he wouldn't believe his story. Now he wondered if he should confide in him. Would he put his family relations ahead of his allegiance to his former pack? Derrick was aware that he knew who his fated mate was by now. Furthermore, the phrasing of his question would need to change if he correctly guessed the answer.
