Chapter 660
At Seathburn City Hospital, the doctor addressed Sergio, who lay in bed. "Mr. Brooks, the wound isn't severe, but you need to avoid any strenuous activity for now. I recommend staying for observation."
Sergio, however, was distracted. The buzz of his phone drew his attention. He unlocked it and saw an unread message from the previous night, mentioning that Maeve was being held captive by Liam in Yewridge.
His face went white with shock. He had assumed Maeve's earlier post meant Zion had rescued her, never suspecting she was actually in Liam's grasp.
"Mr. Brooks, you can't get out of bed! You—"
The doctor's protests were in vain. Ignoring the pain in his leg, Sergio pushed past him and stumbled out of the ward.
Larry, waiting outside, quickly moved to support him. "Mr. Brooks, where are you going? Just tell me what you need."
"Book a flight immediately. I'm going to Yewridge!" he demanded.
Larry's face fell at the mention of Yewridge. "Mr. Brooks, the group is in chaos. Mrs. Brooks Senior has taken over all your responsibilities. You can't leave now. You must stay here to control the situation!"
"Get out of my way!" Sergio snapped, pushing Larry aside.
Seeing his determination, Larry quickly offered, "Mr. Brooks, if it's urgent, let me go in your place and handle it for you..."
"Maeve is in Liam's hands in Yewridge. I have to go!" Sergio insisted.
Understanding that this was about Maeve, Larry realized there was no stopping Sergio. Instead, he tried to calm him, suggesting, "Mr. Brooks, please stay in the ward. I'll book the earliest flight to Yewridge, and we'll go together."
Sergio grasped Larry's shoulders tightly. "Hurry. I need to be there immediately!"
He knew Liam's reputation and was resolute not to let Maeve fall further into his clutches.
"Understood. I'll arrange it right away."
Despite agreeing with Sergio's instruction, Larry turned and hesitated before dialing Hailey's number.
"Mrs. Brooks Senior, Mr. Brooks insists on going to Yewridge to find Ms. Scott. His condition is serious. Please, you must stop him from leaving."
On the other end of the line, Hailey's face darkened upon hearing the news. She ended the call with a steely resolve.
Maeve had caused Sergio serious injuries, and even in the hospital, he was consumed by thoughts of her. Hailey couldn't fathom what made Maeve so captivating that Sergio, the grandson she had raised herself, was deeply entranced.
Beside her, Emily sat anxiously, sensing the tension.
Hailey snapped, "What are you doing? Maeve is already in Yewridge! Why haven’t your people taken care of this?"
"Aunt Hailey, the initial information we received was that Maeve would be at the Seathburn City Pier. My team has been waiting there for days. We had no idea she'd end up in Yewridge!" Emily explained.
Seeing Hailey's mounting frustration, she quickly added, "I'll send my team to Yewridge immediately to deal with Maeve. Don't worry about it!"
"Good. Go now!"
"Yes, Aunt Hailey…"
