Chapter 667
Marcus let out a scream as he stumbled back several steps.
Seizing the moment, Maeve ripped the tape off her mouth and tore away the blindfold. She turned toward the sea, shouting, "Help! Help!"
"Shut your mouth, you bitch!" Sean lunged at her to attack, but Maeve had already freed her ankles.
With a swift kick aimed at Sean's groin, she sent him howling in pain. Marcus rushed forward, but Maeve took him down with a well-placed kick.
Neither Sean nor Marcus expected Maeve to have any fighting skills.
Meanwhile, Maeve silently thanked herself for not slacking off during her training with Zion. If she had, she’d be in serious trouble now.
"Help! Help!" Maeve yelled again as she scrambled into Sean’s car and slammed her foot on the accelerator.
"Sean! She's getting away!"
Marcus's face darkened, and Sean slapped him hard with a grim expression. "Do I need you to fucking tell me that? Go after her!"
But despite Sean's orders, chasing a car on foot was futile. They barely took a few steps before they were gasping for breath.
Suddenly, several headlights suddenly illuminated Sean and Marcus.
The lead man stepped out of one of the cars, and when Sean saw Liam, his face was drained of color. "M-Mr. Larson..."
"Where is she?" Liam's voice was icy.
Sean swallowed hard and stammered, "S-She got away..."
Liam's eyes were filled with menace, and a heavy pressure settled over the two men, making it hard to breathe.
In the next instant, Matteo stepped forward and lifted them effortlessly off the ground with one on each side.
Liam asked coldly, "Who was the buyer?"
"It was Peter from Seathburn. Peter and Seth took the order! We were supposed to kill her. We didn't know anything else!"
Hearing their response, Liam's dissatisfaction grew.
Matteo maintained a stern face and asked, "Mr. Larson, how should we handle this?"
"Throw them in the sea. Let the fish have them."
"Got it."
Sean and Marcus's faces went pale at those words as fear washed over them.
"Please, spare us, Mr. Larson! Have mercy!"
"Mr. Larson! This has nothing to do with us! Please, have mercy!"
No matter how much they pleaded, Liam didn't spare them a glance. He exchanged a glance with Matteo, and soon after, his men wrapped Sean and Marcus in sacks.
"Mr. Larson, should we go after her?"
"She won't get far. Have people search along this road. I want Maeve in front of me within two hours."
"Yes, Mr. Larson." Matteo immediately took two teams and sped off in pursuit.
A bodyguard stepped forward to drape a coat over Liam's shoulders. "Mr. Larson, it's windy here. You should rest.
"Ms. Scott's new to Yewridge and isn't familiar with the area. Besides, we controlled the airport and the port. She won't get away."
Liam's mood darkened further.
The bodyguard escorted Liam to the car, but as they reached Yewridge Hotel, a figure suddenly rushed toward him and delivered a sharp slap across his face.
The sting left Liam momentarily stunned, and his simmering anger began bubbling over. But when he looked up, he was shocked to see a disheveled and frantic Maeve.
