Sara’s Point of View
The door to my room slammed shut, rattling the windows. My chest heaved with anger as I paced back and forth, the events of the day replaying in my mind like a cruel joke. My father’s words, his cold dismissal of me and my mother, cut deeper than I wanted to admit.
“Eva is the queen of the Brown family,” I muttered bitterly, mimicking his tone. My nails dug into my palms as I clenched my fists. “Queen? She’s nothing but a parasite, feeding off what should have been ours.”
The memory of Eva standing there, her head held high as if she were some sort of goddess, burned in my mind. She had the audacity to look at me with pity, as if I were beneath her. That look was worse than any insult she could have thrown at me.
