Chapter 6

Irene POV “Who the hell are you to tell her what she should or shouldn’t wear?” I snapped, my fist balled as I stormed up to Amanda. She had her arms crossed and a sickening arrogant look on her face. My pulses quicken, and even though my wolf wasn’t fully healed yet, I would still take on Amanda, I would not let her bully Cassie. Never. Amanda and her friends looked at me and then they turned to themselves and laughed out loud. I bit my bottom lip as I stepped up to them. “What do you find so funny? Your dumb fashion sense or your third grader makeup skills?” I asked with a scorn on my face. Cassie muffled her laughter behind me. Amanda and her friends gasped and looked down at her clothes. She looked silly, I’m not gonna lie. “Who the fuck wears blazer over a three-quarter jumpsuit in this generation, she looked like she was teleported from middle ages.” “One more word, I will–” she came at my face. I pushed her off me. “Get the fuck out of my face. You should consider choosing a new brand of mouthwash, though.” “Ohh,” her friend cooed behind her. Her brows furrowed in confusion as she looked at me. I knew her mind would be reeling with thought of who I was. “Nice game, Cassie. I see you’ve found yourself a bodyguard.” Cassie shifted closer to me as she held my arm. “Irene, it’s okay. Let's just go,” she whispered to me. She was scared of these low lifes. I pushed her behind me, as I faced Amanda. “Watch your mouth. I am Irene, daughter of Alpha Gavin.” She was taken aback for a moment, and then she burst out into laughter. “You wish, right?” I turned to Cassie. “What the fuck is she saying?” “You are just an Omega. I could barely sense your wolf and yet you lie that you are the Alpha’s blood. Wretches like you could never.” Enough. I stepped up to her and punched her in the face to cut off her rants. I will show her my weak wolf didn’t affect my combat skills. She jumped back, groaning in pain as she glared at me. “You. you will pay for this.” I was about to lunge on her when she and her minions raced out of the boutique. I faced Cassie, she heaved a sigh of relief as she watched them run. “Thanks to the goddess, a fight didn’t break out.” I didn’t really care if it did, those bitches deserved to be taught a lesson. “The nerve of that shewolf. To think she could threaten me even after I told her who I was. What the hell was going on in the pack?” Cassie sighed. “Irene, since you left, so much has changed. The pack is being run by a Luna candidate, named Bella. She is so cruel. She openly bullied the weak. She made low ranking werewolves do hard labour and she even took their personal possessions.” I listened quietly, as my heart bled, my nails digging into my palm, I stared furiously into space, my brows arching. Who the hell is Bella that she thought she could act that way with the pack members? How dare she ruin all my parents and their ancestors had suffered to build? Our pack was known for love and equality. That was the glue that held us together. How could a strange she wolf come and ruin it all? What did I hear she was? Luna candidate my foot. Maybe this was my fault? I thought as a pang of guilt struck my chest. I gulped. Maybe if I hadn’t left all this wouldn’t have happened. Damn it. I am sure it’s not too late, I will do all I can to hold the Moonshadow pack together. I patted Cassie’s back, “Don’t think about it, Cas. Let’s enjoy our shopping.” I pulled her towards the jewelry section and I picked a few, I raised my gaze and I saw a beautiful piece, it was gold, and it had stones on it. I picked it, placed it on my neck and I turned to ask Cassie what she thought, but my eyes fell on Amanda, storming into the jewelry section with an older lady behind her, they looked alike. “How dare you touch me daughter,” she yelled at the top of her voice, drawing the attention of other customers to us. Like mother like daughter, they love causing a scene. I rolled my eyes. “Nice meeting you too. Now I know where she got her bad fashion taste from.” She was taken aback as she glared at me. I turned away from her, focusing on my jewelry hunt. “Cassie, I love this piece. We should get two of them.” “Two? Of this? Give it here. We both know you can’t afford that,” she tried to take it from me. I didn’t let her touch it. She faced the Store Clerk. “Hey, Are you going to stand there and watch?” The Clerk was coming to me, when I sighed and pulled out my father’s black VIP card from my purse. “With this card, I could buy the whole store, and I wouldn’t be broke.” The Clerk gulped and immediately turned back and went to his post. I faced Bella, she stood frozen, with her eyes fixed on the card. “How did you get that?” she asked, shocked. “My father–” “Thief!!” Amanda snapped in. Bella took over. “She had stolen the Alpha’s Black card. She’s a thief!!” I slammed my palm over my forehead. “Would you listen to me? How would I steal my father’s black card?” Cassie was shaking beside me. “Irene is not a thief!” she yelled back at them, her eyes watering. Damn it. The Clerk rushed out. “Security!!” he yelled. “Stop! You are making a mistake. She is the Alpha’s daughter!!” Cassie kept screaming, no one listened. The guards surrounded me. “Take her away. Throw her in the dungeon.” Bella ordered them. They reached for me. I pushed one’s hand away. “Don’t you dare touch me.” Another caught my arm and they dragged me towards the exit. Suddenly, a deep roar tore into the air. I heaved a sigh of relief when Dad stormed into the store, exuding powerful Alpha energy. Everyone except me dropped to their knees.
