Aaron’s POV
“Text messages,” I repeat, finally having made it to the dining room table, my wine glass back in hand.
“Flirty text messages,” Mae corrects her suggestion for how to convince my father that I am successfully seducing her.
I study her as I sip the wine she poured me. It’s the third time I’ve seen her today, even though she thinks we’ve only seen each other twice.
The first time, her guard was up as I told her I wanted to help her win the election. The second time, she was immensely and beautifully vulnerable while she spoke to Caspian, knowing me as her mate instead of her ex-husband. And now…
