Aaron’s POV
I don’t even try to resist as I watch Mae’s fist aim straight for my face. Henry already got a couple good punches in. Honestly, I wasn’t sure he had that in him.
Though I’m glad that if a man as good as Henry is throwing punches, it’s to protect Mae.
My mate’s fist slams into my cheekbone, and my head snaps to the side with the impact. Blood sprays across her floor, and I’m not sure what part of my face exactly it came from: my dripping nose, my throbbing cheekbone, or my swollen mouth.
As Mae winds up for another punch, her arms vibrating as if she’s preparing to shift into her wolf, I finally lift my arm to stop her. I let the first one hit because she needed it and because I deserved it. But I need to keep her from knocking out all my teeth in order to say what I need to say.
