Chapter 29
ELIZA’S POV
It's been three days since the incident in the training halls, since every activity in the pack came to a sudden halt.
Over the last few days, Maggie, the engineer and I -and Alexander - have been testing and examining the building materials and have come to the conclusion that they were all weak and expired materials.
Maggie and the engineer who I came to learn his name was Ronald, insisted that the conductor was deceitful and had supplied us with fake materials but I couldn't shake off the feeling that it wasn't done single-handedly. I knew someone was backing him but I wasn't certain who it was.
"This is the receipt for our wood purchase, that cost us about two hundred thousand," Lily said, sliding a receipt to me. We were in my office going over our bank affairs to check how bad we were damaged and how much damage control we could make.
"This one here is the receipt for steel and concrete. We paid for them at the same time and that cost us six hundred and fifty thousand
