Chapter 847 For You, Dear Wife
“I couldn’t help overhearing you asking Sotiria to marry you. I’m guessing that it’s one of your methods to tease her. You don’t actually want to marry her, right?”
“Wrong,” Zachary replied.
“What?” Lucas’s jaw nearly dropped. “Sir, she may resemble Mrs. Connor in some ways, but she’s not Mrs. Connor. The number of men this woman’s experienced would go on longer than a train, and you… Oh my God! Sir, how could you possibly fall for a woman like that?”
“Watch your tongue!” Zachary’s gaze immediately became terrifyingly cold. “Remember. I won’t love any other woman except that little girl.”
Lucas shivered at the sight of Zachary’s apocalyptic glare. Meanwhile, his heart filled with a wave of pity.
‘Poor Mr. Connor! Since Charlotte's death, he hasn’t touched any other woman, and he’s certainly never considered remarrying. Now, he’s disregarding Sotiria’s reputation and identity simply because she resembles Charlotte. He’s even disregarding the fact that Sotiria’s engaged and wants to make her his wife. If Charlotte could be resurrected from death, he would give everything up for her sake!’
“Start the car.”
Zachary’s piercing voice suddenly rang aloud.
Lucas was surprised. “Sir, aren’t you going to the office today? Why are you asking me to start the car?”
Zachary stared at Sotiria’s figure from a distance. “Follow her.”
“What?” Lucas widened his eyes. “You’ve done more than enough for her today. Why shouldn’t she go home? Why are you—”
“Why are you such a nag today?” Zachary’s calm voice cut Lucas off.
“Sigh! Fine! I’ll stop nagging, and I won’t ask too many questions. I’ll do whatever you say, sir. I’ll get the car right now!” Lucas shook his head as he ran to get the car.
Meanwhile, Zachary curled his lips into an intriguing smile as he watched Sotiria walk out the courtyard gates.
‘Sotiria! Since you won’t do this the easy way, we’ll do it the hard way. Just you wait!’
Sotiria’s house wasn’t too far from the Divine Sanctuary District. She decided to cycle back home, so she used a public bicycle by the road. The phone in her pocket began to buzz not too long after she had begun her journey.
It was a call from Coraline Maddox, the owner of Plus One Fashion Store.
Plus One Fashion Store was a boutique store in Rothesay. A top from that shop had caught her eye when she had been shopping last Tuesday. However, it had been sold out in her size. Thus, she had left the owner her phone number and asked her to call her once the new stock had arrived.
As such, after answering the shop owner’s call, Sotiria immediately drove her bicycle toward Plus One Fashion store to collect the top.
More than half an hour later, she walked out of the shopping mall carrying a paper bag containing that top. Her foot had just stepped out the threshold when a bouquet of roses was thrust toward her.
“This is for you, my beloved wife.”
Sotiria immediately froze in place. She stared dazedly at the man who was so handsome that he could put anyone into a trance. She was rendered speechless for a very long time.
‘Zachary! He’s actually giving me flowers at the entrance of a shopping mall, with tons of people walking around, and he’s even calling me his “wife”! Has he lost his mind?’
