Carrie’s Point of View
My feet pounded against the sidewalk as we ran as fast as we could after landing from the kitchen window. Thankfully, there were no humans around otherwise they might think we’re supernaturals. We cannot let hunters mingle in our business.
With each footstep that hit the pavement a new thought echoed through my clouded mind.

By now the sun had gone down, and Jace found a hotel. It was now located in the main city. The receptionist gave us a room with one bed. I wanted to protest but there was no time for that. Who knows, maybe those rogues would still be searching for us.
“We cannot afford to cause any ruckus, Carrie now that the enemies are wary of us. Hunters are everywhere,” Jace said as we entered the room.
