Carrie’s Point of View
I stood in Lucas’ room once more tending to his wounds. The scene with Derek has long been gone but the burns in his body were still there and didn’t heal at all. Like last time, he sat at the chair by his desk hunched over. I applied burn cream to his blisters, and couldn't help but feel bitterness. When my arm was aching from the burn he caused, there was nothing but water to heal it. However, now that he is injured, everything he needs is provided by his wonderful slaves.
I tried to hold the hatred off my face, but I don't think I was too successful.
Once I was finished addressing his burns, I stood back and began to clean up the gauze and cream that littered his table. Suddenly, a hand came across my face and knocked me to the ground, causing my leg to twist painfully. I looked up at Lucas for some sort of explanation, but only saw hatred in his face.
What was his problem? Was he just in the mood to hit me for no reason today?
