Carrie’s Point of View
I continued eating in peace, enjoying what little time I had to myself. If I shut my eyes and let the taste of eggs fill my mouth, I could almost imagine I was back at home, enjoying the breakfast that our pack shares every morning.
Almost.
I sighed as the last bite was slipped into my mouth. I savored it's wonderful taste before I finally had to swallow, and wash it down with the milk provided for me. When I was finished, I sat on the bed somewhat awkwardly, wondering what I was to do next. I knew Lucas didn't want me out of bed, so bringing my own plates downstairs was practically a death wish. But Brigit was nowhere to be found, so I had no one to give my tray to.
In the end, I decided to lay it next to me and wait. There wasn't much I could do anyway.
Minutes passed by, with nothing but the sound of my own heart to count the time. I groaned and tried to keep the tiredness out of my mind, but couldn't help wanting to doze off again. I never was much of a morni
