Chapter 7277
Harvey got up early and had some refreshments prepared. He made a point of checking on Mandy. And seeing that she was still asleep, he chose not to disturb her.
Harvey considered whether it might be best to get Mandy out of Grand City now that the situation was growing increasingly tense. It was quite risky for her to remain in Grand City, after all.
While Rachel could offer her some protection, there was no guarantee that someone stronger than Rachel wouldn't show up to assassinate her. With that in mind, Harvey decisively booked her a flight from Hyperborea. He was planning to send her off first and explain later.
But just as soon as he finished and was waiting for many to wake up, his phone vibrated.
He picked it up, and Lanny informed him that something had happened at Platinum Casino last night. Harvey frowned briefly before instructing Rachel to make sure Mandy was sent away, regardless of the cost, before heading to the Platinum Casino in a car.
Harvey arrived at Platinum Casino and was quickly led to a hidden vault. It wasn't large, just a few hundred square feet, with its wall reinforced with concrete and steel. However, the vault was completely empty, as if someone had cleared it out overnight.
Harvey frowned as he examined the traces left behind.
Lanny said, "I always knew Camellia had a secret vault in the casino, but we never found it. I didn't expect someone would beat us to it and clean the place out. My guess is that, other than the priceless assets, the real ledger for Platinum Casino is gone. Not only did it record all the information regarding the shareholders, but it must have also recorded all their shady deals as well. It was the best weapon against Camellia. But now…" Lanny's voice lowered.
Harvey had entrusted her with this place to turn it into a weapon to be used against Dan and his men. But she had just lost her best opportunity.
Harvey wasn't angry, however. He simply smiled. "We didn't even know this place existed, remember? As for Camellia, she must be confident she can take the Platinum Casino back in a short while before passing it to me, so she didn't bother to move them out. But now? She moved everything overnight.
"Which means one thing… She's scared. She knows she'll never get this place back. That's why she has no choice but to retrieve her belongings."
Harvey wasn't frustrated at all. Instead, he analyzed things for Lanny.
Lanny took a deep breath as she listened to Harvey, looking regretful. "If I had known…."
Harvey shrugged. "In all honesty, we don't even need to know what's in that ledger. All we need to know is that there was a ledger here that recorded their shady dealings. That alone is enough. I trust someone as smart as you can maximize its effects."
Lanny paused, and then slowly nodded.
