After leaving the hospital, Amelia didn't go home. Instead, she called Michael. Just as Jessica had said, if Rachel went overseas alone, the mental toll could lead to serious consequences. She would never allow her mother to take that risk. That left only one option. She would have to beg Michael herself. The phone rang for a while before it was answered. "What is it?" Michael's low voice came through the line. Amelia pursed her lips. "Mr. Sutton, can I see you?" Michael sat behind his desk in his office, reviewing documents. Hearing her request, he glanced at his watch, only to realize it was time for lunch. "Where are you?" he asked. Amelia gave him the address. Not long after, Cyrus arrived with the car. "After you, Ms. Sutton." Cyrus opened the door for her. Amelia thanked him and got in, only to find that Michael was already inside. She froze for a moment, then nodded politely toward him. Michael ignored her. He remained focused on the documents in his hands, looki
