Damien's POV
I can’t believe they had the nerve to knock Trey out and run. I know them, they’re not impulsive. That means they knew what was coming. I don’t know how they found out, but now we’re forced to hunt them down. I had plans for those girls; specific, careful plans, and the fact that they decided to gamble everything and run infuriates me. I don’t think I’ve ever been this angry. I wanted to punch Dan for letting it happen. He was the one who allowed Lauren to drive off without a second glance.
Still, it wasn’t only his fault. Kayla had been sending Lauren on errands for years. She couldn’t beat her, so she made her her personal delivery girl, always running into town for whatever she needed. That petty, power-play nonsense gave Lauren the perfect excuse to leave and now we’re paying the price. My fists clenched. Kayla would get hers when this was over. I’m not losing my grip on this situation just for a few days of chaos. I need to find Maya today, no matter what.
